Frequently Asked Question

How do I delete an annotation that I have created?
Last Updated 8 days ago

If you have created an annotation, but are now having second thoughts about it and want to delete it, have no fear - there is an easy way to do so.

Go to the webpage where you created the annotation.

Find or scroll down to the anchor text that you highlighted and linked the annotation to

Click on the anchor text. This will open the Annotation Viewer window and show either your annotation or one of the others linked to that anchor text.

If there are other annotations linked to that anchor text, you can find yours by clicking on the next or previous button to scroll forward or backward through the anniotations, until you come to yours.

Your annotation will have a reddish-brown button saying "Delete". If you are sure you want to delete your annotation, click on this "Delete" button. This will bring up a final warning popup saying: "Are you sure you want to delete this annotation? This cannot be undone."

At this point you can either click on the"Cancel" button, which closes the warning and takes you back to the Annotation Viewer window, or you can click on the "OK" button that will delete the annotation and close the warning popup. If there are no other annotations linked to that same annotation text, then the Annotation Viewer window will also close.

IMPORTANT:  Deleting an annotation that you have created will not restore the Create Credit that you used when you saved the annotation.
