Frequently Asked Question

How do I look at annotations?
Last Updated 8 days ago

If you see a webpage with text highlighted in pale green, the chances are that these are Anotato anchors that have Anotato annotations attached to them

To look at these annotations, simply:

  • Move the mouse pointer to the green hihlighted anchor text. (The pointer changes to a hand with an extended finger), and
  • Left-click on the mouse.

This will open up the Annotation Viewer window that will show the annotation(s) linked to that anchor text. You can only see one annotation at a time, but you can cycle through them by clicking on the Previous and Next buttons.

In this window you can interact with an annotation (unless it is one of your annotations) in the following ways:

  • Forward (upvote) the annotation to increase its visibility.
  • Reject the annotation to reduce its visibility
  • Report the annotation if you think it has breached our terms of service.

You can also simply ignore the annotation by moving on or back with the Next or Previous buttons, or by closing the window.
