Frequently Asked Question

There may be times when you want to look at a website without seeing the annotations or highlighted anchor text. For example you might want to look at a website without distraction, or maybe at times you find the Anotato highlighting too intrusive. For these occasions, you can easile switch the extension off.

Simply left click on the Anotato icon to bring the dropdown into view.

Select "Turn off Extension". The extension is then turned off and any Anotato highlights on any page that you look at will simply not appear. The dropdown will also show that the extension is turned off.

You can turn it on again at any time by clicking on the green button

Note that when you click away from the dropdown, it will close altogether and the only visible sign that the extension is off will be the Annotato icon in the top right corner overlaid with the word "OFF".

To turn the extension back on, Click on the icon again to bring up the dropdown with the green button and then click on the green button.
